SAFEGUARDING
How we keep young people safe.
If a child is in immediate danger

Call 999. Don’t wait for us.

For anything else: safeguarding@yourdomain.com, or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000. Young people can call Childline free on 0800 1111 — it doesn’t show on a phone bill.

Our commitment

Where the interests of a young person and the growth of this competition pull in different directions, the young person wins. That is a design principle, and it is why the app works the way it does.

  • ✓ Every clip is watched by a person before it is published
  • ✓ Under-13s cannot use the service at all
  • ✓ 13–17s need a guardian to confirm, and the guardian can withdraw instantly
  • ✓ No advertising to anyone; sponsored challenges are 18+ only
  • ✓ No daily-login rewards or loss-framed streaks — we don’t build compulsion into it
  • ✓ Under-16s are never put in front of scouts
  • ✓ Reports are acted on within 24 hours
Checks on our people

Anyone in a role involving under-18s is checked before they start — and our systems refuse to roster an unchecked person onto an event, so it can’t be overlooked when things are busy.

We record the certificate number and the date it was seen. We do not keep copies of DBS certificates — holding them would be unnecessary and a risk in itself.

What we ask of everyone
  • • Never arrange to meet a young person you’ve met here, privately or otherwise
  • • Never ask a young person for personal contact details, photos or money
  • • Keep contact on the platform, where it can be seen
  • • Report anything that feels wrong — you will never be in trouble for raising a concern that turns out to be nothing

Adults who approach young people privately after meeting them here will be removed permanently and, where appropriate, reported to the police.

Reporting a concern

Email safeguarding@yourdomain.com. Every concern is logged and reviewed by our Designated Safeguarding Lead, even where nothing is proven — patterns are how problems are actually caught, and a pattern needs a record.

Where a concern meets the threshold, we refer to the local authority designated officer, children’s services or the police, and we will make a DBS referral where someone has been removed for harming a child. That is a legal duty, not a discretion.
